Technology in Sustainable Development and Environmental Studies
This three-year program offers orientation about the state of development of the local community, the nature of autonomous social and economic development, and the foundations of local economics. The student develops skills in formulating, organizing, carrying out, administering and evaluating small development projects, applying the rules of moral leadership in his relations with those with whom he works.
Professor of Education in Applied Math and Science with Emphasis in Bilingual Multicultural Education
This four-year program covers the theories and innovative practical applications in rural communities of biology, chemistry and physics, and of such branches of math as geometry and algebra. It prepares the student to teach classes from grades seven through twelve in applied science and math, as well as reading, writing and grammar in the native language (ngäbere), and elements of the native culture and its relationship to other cultures. The graduate can participate effectively in research projects in science, economy, education and the social sciences, with skills in statistical interpretation.
