    When you donate crypto to Mona, you receive a tax deduction for the value of the crypto, and avoid the capital gains tax you would have paid if you sold the crypto before donating. This means donating crypto can translate into a larger donation and a higher tax deduction.

    Yes! If you are an NFT creator, here's how you can donate to Mona:

    • Create and mint your NFT.
    • Auction your NFT on your preferred platform as you normally would. 
    • Set the payout address as our cryptocurrency wallet (at the top of this page).

  • Is my donation refundable?

    No. Blockchain payments are non-refundable by design. Always check the accuracy and authenticity of any address you're sending cryptocurrency to. This is best practice for any bitcoin or cryptocurrency transaction.

  • Will I get a tax receipt with my crypto donation?

    Yes, when you donate through our Giving Block portal, you will be prompted to submit your email to receive an automatic tax receipt. Your crypto donation will be valued at the time of donation at its tax deductible FMV.

  • Can I donate anonymously and still get a tax receipt?

    Yes, if you wish to donate anonymously, you can submit only an email to receive an automatic tax receipt and provide no further personal information.

What does INequality look like around the world?

In India

  • India's daughters are unsafe, unwanted, unequal, and unfree. 50% do not want to be girls.
  • Child brides are common.
  • 5 million Indian girls (33% of the world's total) are married as children.
  • 50% of married women report domestic violence.
  • Nearly 1 million girls are killed in the womb each year through selective termination.

In Guatemala

  • Maya girls face levels of exclusion that make them among the most marginalized people on the planet experiencing the worst gender-equity gap in the Western hemisphere.
  • Fewer than 20% of Maya women complete high school.
  • 57% of girls are married or have become mothers by age 18.

In USA

  • 1 in 3 teenage girls is a victim of physical, emotional, or verbal abuse from a dating partner
  • Nearly half of students in grades 7-12 report experiencing sexual harassment.
  • Women earn 83 cents on the dollar as compared to men.
  • Having one of the highest maternal mortality rates among developed nations.
