Jessica's Story: Youth Artist of the Year

Jessica was a restless, withdrawn child when she came to Badi School, Panama. She was taken in, loved, and cared for. To help her channel her energy, “learn patience,” and express herself, she was taught to paint as an after-school activity. Her talent flourished, and she began participating in different exhibits in her school district and later across Panama.

Today, she has successfully graduated from the College of Architecture on a full scholarship, is recognized as the “Panama Youth Artist of the Year” and owns her own gallery! She is also giving back to society by teaching other girls at Badi School how to paint.
